Something I’ve been trying to improve this year is my at-home productivity. Not that there’s anything wrong with vegging out, but it’s too easy for me to get sucked into Netflix or Instagram and forget to do important things.
Thoughts on Completing My First Inktober Challenge
I may be UX designer, but my first love is drawing. My lifelong love of drawing is what prompted me to go to art school. Doodling silly things is one of my favorite things to do, and I’ve always wanted to do an Inktober challenge.
Working with ADHD
I have ADHD. Specifically, ADHD with a combination subtype, which means I have elements of inattention and hyperactivity. This is risky to post on my portfolio site because there are many people who think ADHD is fake and is an excuse for "lazy" behavior. Before my diagnosis, I felt lazy and stupid. I thought I was crazy and incapable of really succeeding in life. After many tests and interviews, two doctors diagnosed me. This diagnosis has changed my life for the better.
From Graphic Designer to UX Designer
One thing I love about UX is that there's no one way to becoming a UX designer. Every UX designer I personally know didn't start their career in UX, and many didn't start it as a designer. Because of that, I think it can be really confusing for newcomers who want to jump into the field.
